The Global Alliance for Arts & Health will hold its 24th annual international conference, Healing Communities through the Arts, from 11-12 April 2013 in Washington, DC, USA. The conference invites submissions of abstracts on the theme of the use of the arts in community settings to promote resilience and healing in the face of crisis or for public health. Centered around Dublin’s cultural hub of Temple Bar, the festival aims to challenge mental health stigma and prejudice through the creative arts. Helium seeding project developed from REFLECT Lab: bursary recipients

In autumn 2012, Helium offered a bursary to artists and healthcare professionals who took part in the REFLECT Lab project in the Northwest in 2011. The bursary has been awarded to Margot Jones, Theatre Practitioner, and Winifred McNulty, Senior Speech and Language Therapist (SLT), who will collaborate on a series of drama and speech and language therapy workshops for children with expressive/receptive speech and language delay.
