Jigsaw Offaly invite writers to submit stories or theatrical monologues on the topic of living with mental health issues. It could be a character’s account of their experience of mental health issues, for example; coping with anxiety, depression, bullying, self-harm, loneliness, relationship difficulties or eating disorders to mention but a few of the challenges that some young people may face on a daily basis. Music to Small Ears, an early years, arts and health music project with composer and musician, George Higgs, has received 2015 Project Award funding from the Arts Council. George, supported by Helium Arts and Waterford Healing Arts Trust, will bring 12 musical interactions to babies and their families in The Waterford Local Health Centre during BCG and Developmental Clinics, behaving as a quasi-participant in the waiting areas.
The residents, friends, relatives and staff of Castletownbere Community Hospital are delighted to welcome internationally renowned pianist David Syme to perform a selection of familiar and favoured music for the hospital community as part of Cork counties Culture Night celebrations on Friday 18 September at 6:30pm.
