Poetry making in Cork University Hospital

Haiku Island Press,  designer Orlagh O’Brien and artist Tess Leak, will be running poetry making sessions in the Department of Renal Medicine, Cork University Hospital this autumn, with the aim of making a limited edition book. All patients are invited to join two sessions running in the ward on Monday  14 and 21 September 2015 at 2.30pm.  Read More

Michael Harding to launch Into the Light a unique book created by artist and writer Corina Duyn on Sunday 6 September at 3pm, at the Dechen Shying Care Centre, Dzogchen Beara, Allihies, West Cork. Into the Light is an artist book-in-a-wooden-box. Each loose sheet has a short reflection on life with chronic illness/disability, although its wisdoms are also applicable to many of life’s challenges.  Read More


Public art commissions in the HSE: Call to artists for Public Art Panel

The Waterford Healing Arts Trust (WHAT), on behalf of the HSE South/ South East and Saolta University Healthcare Group, invites artists to apply for a place on a new Public Art Panel leading to permanent art commissions under the Per Cent for Art Scheme within some new health care developments in the above HSE areas. The panel will be in place between January 2016 and December 2017 with the possibility for extension for a further year until December 2018. Read More

New art commission by Francis Lanuza in Kilrush

Foxford-based architect and visual artist Francis Lanuza has just completed his first Irish commission as an emerging artist, entitled Healing Hills.  Using his architectural skills, the artist has been able to create a work of art that enhances an otherwise blank and dull space, transforming it into a breathing space that uplifts both patients and staff in Regina House Community Nursing Unit in Kilrush, Co.
