Gavin Clayton has joined the University of Florida Center for Arts in Medicine

Gavin Clayton has joined the faculty of the University of Florida Center for Arts in Medicine. Gavin has joined the Center’s esteemed faculty as Adjunct Lecturer in our Master of Arts (MA) in Arts in Medicine programme. Gavin is the executive director of Arts & Minds in Cambridge, England. He is one of the founders of England’s National Alliance for the Arts, Health and Wellbeing, and was also involved in establishing the All Party Parliamentary Group for Arts, Health and Wellbeing.

Nature’s Reflection at University Hospital Waterford

Nature’s Reflection is a series of photographs by Kate Quinn that document her dialysis journey. They were created through WHAT‘s art programme in the Dialysis Unit of University Hospital Waterford and are on view in the hospital from 12 May – 24 June 2016. The exhibition will be launched at 6pm on Thursday 12 May by contemplative photographer Catherine Drea. Read More

A Menu of Poems: Poetry Day 2016

To celebrate Poetry Day on Thursday 28 April 2016, a Menu of Poems called Soul Food will be distributed throughout Irish hospital wards, waiting rooms and other healthcare settings for patients, visitors and staff to enjoy. The poetry was selected by award winning poet Colette Bryce. Bryce will be visiting Ireland for the Cúirt International Festival of Literature, to read at an event and to launch the Poems for Patience Series at University Hospital Galway. Read More
