€9m Arts and Culture Capital Scheme is open for applications

The Minister for Arts, Heritage, Regional, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Heather Humphreys TD, has today announced that the Arts and Culture Capital Scheme 2016 is open for applications. This new €9m capital investment scheme for arts and culture centres will run from 2016-2018 and is focussed on enhancing the existing stock of arts and culture centres throughout the country. Open Call for a Socially Engaged Commission at Tate Liverpool

Tate Liverpool is fully committed to challenging the ways in which art is presented to the public and how this can evolve through working in social contexts. To this end Tate Liverpool opens the call for collaborative socially engaged artist/s born in or resident in the UK, Ireland, Spain, Finland, Hungary or Germany, (partner countries within the Collaborative Arts Partnership Programme). The budget for this commission is 40,000 GBP (approximately 50,000 EUR) and closing date for applications is 30 August 2016 at midnight. Irish Pavilion at Venice Biennale 2016 – Losing Myself

Níall McLaughlin and Yeoryia Manolopoulou are representing Ireland at the 15th International Architecture Exhibition with Losing Myself. The exhibition is open to the public until Sunday 27 November  2016 at the Giardini and the Arsenale. The installation at the Arsenale imagines the Alzheimer’s Respite Centre in Dublin, Ireland as experienced by its occupants: people with dementia and their carers. Dementia erodes the ability to remember where you have come from and to plan where you would like to go. It becomes progressively harder to situate yourself and to navigate your way in the world: two capacities central to the experience of architecture. Read More
