As part of Cork Traveller Pride 2019, a celebration of Traveller culture & ethnicity, a new artwork ‘Seek the happiness of Traveller Pride’ is being unveiled at Cork University Hospital on 28 May. The Traveller Pride Art Quilt celebrates Traveller identity and pride, depicting a horse as an enduring symbol of culture and pride. The quilt was created through a collaboration between Spring Lane Traveller Women’s Group and textile artist Mary Palmer. Read More


Seven Summer Stars: A showcase of artwork by young people with Cystic Fibrosis

Seven Summer Stars are a group of young teenagers with cystic fibrosis who have been making art and connecting creatively since March 2019 as part of Helium Arts’ pilot online art programme. The programme is led by artist Rachel Tynan with the support of An Cosán Virtual Community College. Waterford Healing Arts Trust will host a showcase of artwork from the project on Wednesday 29 May at 6pm.  Read More

‘Can You See What I See?’ is a series of hand painted illustrations by artist Caroline Hyland strongly informed by listening to people with dementia, and to those who support them, their families, friends and the medical professionals. The exhibition is coming to DLR LexIcon, Dún Laoghaire from 16 May to 16 June 2019. Artist tours will take place during the Living Well with Dementia information evening on Monday 27 May at 6.30pm.  Read More


Artist Deirdre Dunne selected to make University Hospital Waterford “A Better Place”

Artist Deirdre Dunne has been selected via a public vote to be this year’s A Better Place artist at University Hospital Waterford (UHW). Deirdre’s solo exhibition at UHW opens on 28 June 2019 and continues until September, with the aim of making the hospital a better place for all. The A Better Place exhibition is an annual exhibition, open to all artists, and managed by Waterford Healing Arts Trust (WHAT).   Read More
