*DEADLINE FOR APPLICATIONS HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO Friday 16 August.* Age & Opportunity has created an opportunity for care settings and older people living in or attending those settings to engage creatively with an artist over the course of a number of months. Age & Opportunity also wishes to offer an opportunity for an artist to develop their specific skills in relation to working in arts and health settings. Creative Arts and Dementia: Developing Best Practice is a new UK conference developed in collaboration with the Journal of Dementia Care, the Creative Dementia Arts Network (CDAN) and the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA). The conference will take place on 24 September 2019 at the mac in Birmingham.
Art is the Place we Meet is a group exhibition by the residents’ Art Group in Leopardstown Park Hospital, Dublin. The provision of this service for residents stems from the strong belief in the power of art to connect people, to enable communication, to alleviate suffering and lessen the burden that illness brings. The Arts Council Arts Participation Project Award supports initiatives in the field of Arts Participation for projects commencing on or after 1 January 2020. The purpose of the award is to support proposals from professional artists or arts organisations who wish to collaborate artistically with non-arts professionals (individuals or groups). Read More
