Story2Remember: Call for health and social care professionals

Date posted: 20 November 2021

Are you a health or social care professional with a passion for storytelling? Engaging Dementia in cooperation with the Gaiety School of Acting and the National Theatre School of Ireland, are looking for health and/or social care professionals to train in the Story2Remember programme.

Story2Remember is an innovative methodology based on the use of creative drama and storytelling to improve the lives of people living with dementia. Co-funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union, Story2Remember has already been piloted and tested in five European countries: Ireland, Romania, Greece, Bulgaria and United Kingdom.

The Story2Remember project has four main objectives:

  • Improving health and social care professionals’ competences working in the care field through an educational programme using creative drama and storytelling
  • Enhancing the communication skills of family care partners of people with dementia through the use of creative drama, role play and storytelling
  • Enriching the wellbeing of people with dementia through the upskilling of health and social care professionals and informal care partners
  • Raising public awareness of dementia and highlighting the benefits of creative initiatives to support the global policy agenda of building dementia-friendly communities.

If you work with people living with dementia in a care setting and you are passionate about storytelling, send your CV to admin@engagingdementia.ie by 22 November 2021.
