Arts & Minds
Mission / Aims
To provide high quality arts projects to people with mental health issues thereby reducing stigma, enhancing social inclusion and exposing participants to the benefits and pleasure to be derived from the arts.
Areas of activities
Arts & Minds has been involved in projects including participatory music and dance groups, creative writing workshops, visual arts projects involving painting, glasswork and animation, storytelling workshops and jewellery making. We have run a poetry project that involved participants writing haiku that captured the voice and imagination of mental health service users. The haiku were published in leaflet form for distribution to health facilities launched on World Mental Health Day at the Camden Palace Hotel in Cork.
