MusicAlive
Mission / Aims
MusicAlive is Ireland’s specialist organisation dealing with the provision, development and promotion of music in healthcare and community settings. The organisation aims to develop high quality practice, collaborating with participants and staff to create musical works for dissemination through recording and performance; integrate into healthcare and collaborate with other artists.
Areas of activities
MusicAlive facilitates music programmes in healthcare contexts, alongside providing training for musicians and healthcare staff on working in this area. The workshops involve vocal and instrumental work along with movement and improvisation. All the participants are encouraged to engage to their own level of comfort within each workshop and this engagement forms an integral part of the success of the programmes.
