Waterford Youth Arts
Mission / Aims
Waterford Youth Arts is a youth and community arts resource which enables young people to participate in creative activity as a means of self-expression and development in a safe, professional and enjoyable environment.
Waterford Youth Arts provides a comprehensive quality response to the creative aspirations and developmental needs of young people in the South East of Ireland.
Areas of activities
Positive Youth Mental Health – Arts & Minds, Hidden Strengths is a resilience building programme targeting the involvement of 11 – 19 year olds in an in-school and out-of-school (youth work) setting. It was built on the success of established models like MindOut (Youthreach, HSE West) and is delivered through arts facilitation. Resourced by Waterford City Suicide Prevention Implementation Group, this is a new initiative for the youth work and community sector in Waterford for young people, specific to the area of youth mental health and suicide prevention through arts facilitation.
