Arts for Health partnership programme, West Cork has recently appointed a new artist to join the team for the next 16 weeks. Visual artist Tess Leak who graduated from B.A. in Visual Art (Dublin Institute of Technology), Sherkin Island in 2009 will work with Julia Pallone in Mount St. Michael, Clonakilty Community Hospital. Julia, a multi-disciplinary visual artist has an extensive experience in participatory arts practice and has been part of the Arts for Health partnership programme since March 2010 in both the Community Hospital and the Day Care Centre programme strands.

The Arts for Health Placement Programme, now in its second year is intended to be an annual opportunity for artists wishing to gain on-site experience delivering in a healthcare environment. The Placement Artist is supported through the Arts for Health artists team and management structure.

Arts for Health is a partnership programme based in West Cork implementing a managed arts programme for older people into the culture and practice of healthcare settings as a core activity. The programme is supported and steered by a partnership which includes; West Cork Arts Centre, Cork County Council, West Cork VEC and (HSE) Cork Arts + Health Programme, West Cork Community Hospitals and Day Care Centres.
