Artists working in healthcare settings are invited to an open network meeting at 11.00am, Tuesday 20 March 2012 at West Cork Arts Centre. Artists from the Arts for Health team will host an informal gathering to discuss issues in relation to working in a healthcare setting and share current work practices. The key topics up for discussion include working with dementia, navigating a new environment and documenting your work.
Arts for Health is a partnership programme based in West Cork implementing a managed arts programme for older people into the culture and practice of healthcare settings as a core activity. Arts for Health interagency partnership comprises of West Cork Arts Centre, Cork County Council, West Cork VEC and HSE. HSE is represented through Cork Arts + Health Programme, Health Promotion Department, Nursing Directors of Community Hospitals and Day Care Centres, West Cork. Arts for Health runs all year round and is delivered by a team of artists from different disciplines and takes place in five Community Hospitals, five Day Care Centres and Bantry General Hospital. The artists currently on the team are Sharon Dipity, Julia Pallone, Anne Harrington Rees, Tess Leak and Sean O’Laoghaire.
