Garter Lane Arts Centre is thrilled to announce an open call for artwork to be exhibited in the upcoming group show ‘What kind of old do you want to be?’  The artists and selected work will show at the Garter Lane Theatre Gallery in May 2012.

As it’s the EU Year of Active Ageing and Solidarity between Generations we have taken this years Bealtaine theme of, ‘What kind of old do you want to be?’ as the inspiration for our open group exhibition. For this call we invite people of all ages, backgrounds, and artistic abilities to creatively respond to, ‘What kind of old do you want to be?’ We are looking for unique and interesting approaches to this theme from all ages in any medium, from drawing, painting, text, collage, sculpture, photography, installation or anything else you work with. So come young, come old and show us what you’ve got!

The exhibiton will offer an opportunity to showcase creativity from all ages and offer the community the chance to come and see, engage, appreciate, admire and celebrate the extraordinary talent that Waterford City, County and the South East has to offer. The closing date for all submissions is 5.00pm on Thursday 19 April 2012.  Click here for more information.
