You are invited to partake in The Apple Arts and Wellbeing Café that is taking place during the Clonmel Junction Festival 6 to 15 July 2012. The Café will be exploring links between creative arts activity, healthy living and attitudes to wellbeing in a space where cross-fertilisation between the different art forms are explored. This cafe acts as a showcase for local arts and health practitioners.

There will be some space available for display if you would like to use the opportunity to put up artwork or info of the services you or anyone else you may know has on offer that is specific to arts and health / wellbeing. This could be your own work (not for sale) or that of a group you are involved with past or present.

This will also be an occasion for you to sample some of the atmosphere, sessions and workshops that interest you. Bring along your instrument and/or add your voice if you wish to share, network and engage with each other and café visitors.

With this in mind, a programme of daily activities will be on offer:- starting the day with Active Arts:- creative studio time and art-making for everyone from 11 to 1pm and going on to a lunchtime Happy Health Hour featuring singing, laughter yoga, demonstrations on healthy eating and more.

The afternoon will be taken up by a selection of interactive workshops and circle discussions with invited guests from Waterford Healing Arts Trust, Expressive Arts Ireland, Music Alive, Creative Energies Group amongst others that will provide opportunities to experience and explore how visual art, music, arts therapies including shamanic practice, movement and dance, can positively enhance peoples’ lives.

The day will close with a reflection hour from 5 to 6pm where all are invited to share inspiring experiences, taking time to unwind, reflect and renew.

The Apple Cafe is an opportunity for individual and collective art-making, including drawing, painting and mixed media as well as working with music, sound and movement.

The Café is curated by Brigid Teehan and Lyn Mather. A number of guest participants  are invited that also include Tipperary Arts & Health Interest Group (TAHIG) members.

A detailed cafe program will be circulated soon. All activities for free (donations always welcome).
