The Healing Sounds programme will continue to provide exciting live music performances in Waterford Regional Hospital during August to October 2012, from a diverse range of musicians. Music will begin in the hospital foyer from 1.30pm to 2.00pm before moving to the wards and outpatients clinics.

Melissa Jennings
Dublin born classical pianist Melissa Jennings who has strong family roots in Waterford will perform on Monday 13thAugust. Melissa is currently in her final year studying music performance at Dublin Institute of Technology under the tutelage of Dr David Mooney. In her career Melissa has won many highly prestigious music competitions. Melissa regularly performs as a soloist and has performed chamber music recitals with the Vanbrugh Quartet.

Dúnaill
Local singing group Dúnaill will be bringing their unique take on Celtic ballads with a classical twist to Waterford Regional Hospital on the 10th September 2012. The multi-instrumentalists and singers who arrange and compose all their own music recently became the first group from outside North America to perform at the March Hare Festival. Dúnaill have been invited to Newfoundland, Canada on several occasions to perform as part of the Ireland-Newfoundland festival of the sea. Dúnaill has recently released their debut CD.

Margaret and Siobhan Lynch
October sees the return of Wexford sisters Siobhan and Margaret Lynch on Monday 1st. Siobhan and Margaret are Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Arts trained classical musicians who play cello and violin respectively. Until recently Siobhan held the position of cellist with the RTÉ Symphony Orchestra and Margaret was the principal Violist with the Welsh National Orchestra for thirteen years. Currently Margaret and Siobhan are freelance musicians and perform regularly as part of the successful string quartet The Musix Factor.
