Phizzfest present a lunchtime seminar with artists and health care professionals on 5 September 2012 at 12.30 pm in the Freeman Auditorium, Mater Hospital. This year’s festival seminar will look at some aspects of the relationship between art practice and healthcare provision.
Laragh Pittman, an artist working with Phizzfest will introduce this year’s festival Arts & Health community project the ‘Creative Check-Up’ based in the former First Active premises at 357 North Circular Road.
Ed Devane, an instrument builder and composer, will talk about his installation within the Creative Check-Up, and will talk about his use of interactive technology.http://www.eddevane.com
Dara Carroll, Arts & Environment manager with the Mater Campus Hospital Development will introduce art commissioned for the new extension designed by architects Scott Tallon Walker & YRM, in particular, the contemplation pod by artist Garvan de Bruirhttp://mchd.ie/
Hilary Moss, Director of the National Centre for Arts & Health at the Adelaide and Meath Hospital Tallaght, will talk about her research into Aesthetic Deprivation, a study that informs the current debate in the arts and health sector.
