The Waterford Healing Arts Trust (WHAT), in partnership with the Dialysis Unit of Waterford Regional Hospital launched a publication entitled All About Us in October. The publication was produced through WHAT’s Art Kart service in the unit. Artist Boyer Phelan invited patients and staff to share with her their memories, stories and artworks and All About Us is the result of that process.
All About Us was launched by writer Michael Coady. Michael Coady lives in the town of his birth, Carrick-on-Suir, Co. Tipperary and was elected in 1998 to Aosdána, the affiliation of artists under the aegis of the Arts Council of Ireland. His book Going By Water is newly published by the Gallery Press. It joins All Souls and One Another to form a trilogy employing a pioneering Coady genre in the Irish context, in which he integrates and orchestrates poetry, prose and his own photography.
Speaking at the launch Michael Coady congratulated all the participants who contributed to the book and who giving the reader an insight into their lives.
