Highlanes Gallery, Drogheda, presents a lecture on Saturday 1 December at 12.00noon entitled Can the visual arts play a role in medical education? A new model. The lecture will explore a new medical humanities module developed by Brenda Moore-McCann, a medical doctor and art historian at the School of Medicine Trinity College Dublin, since 2008.

This lecture will be of interest to a general audience as well as artists and those involved in care situations, as well as the medical field. Employing both medical and art imagery and the participation of the audience, the lecture will outline some of the ways perception and thinking are linked.

The lecture is free and donations of €2 are encouraged.  For further information contact the gallery reception on 041-9803311 or email Michele at info@highlanes.ie.

Highlanes Gallery is grateful for the on-going financial support of Drogheda Borough Council, the Arts Council and Irish Cement Limited, as well as Patrons, Benefactors and Friends.
