Twice yearly, the Arts Council offers grants to enable artists and communities of place/or interest to work together on contemporary collaborative arts projects. The scheme is managed by Create, the national development agency for collaborative arts in social and community contexts. The deadlines for 2013 are 14 March 2013 and 24 June 2013.
Art@Work, the annual exhibition organised by Galway University Hospitals Arts Trust, will be launched on 19 December 2012 on the Arts Corridor of University Hospital, Galway. Art@Work showcases art created by the staff of Galway University Hospitals and the exhibition will remain on view until January 31 2013.
The Wellcome Trust invites individuals and organisations from the UK and the Republic of Ireland to apply for funding through its Arts Awards, which support imaginative and experimental arts projects exploring biomedical science. Funding can be applied for at two levels: small and medium-sized projects (up to and including £30 000) and large-scale projects (over £30 000). The next deadline for the Small Arts Awards is 25 January 2013.
The Irish Cancer Society has launched X-HALE 2013, a short film competition for youth groups on the subject of young people and smoking. The timeline for the film project is January to April 2013. Films must be a maximum of two minutes in length and completed and submitted to the Irish Cancer Society by 20 April 2013. The short films should all be youth centred and involve young people from start to finish. The Irish Cancer Society will offer a range of supports to applicants and all film submissions will be entered into the X-HALE Youth Awards 2013.
The deadline for expressions of interest is 14 December 2012.
The Arch of Arts in Health International Conference will take place from March 17-19 2013 in Haifa, Israel. The conference organisers, The Ruth and Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine, the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, welcome the submission of virtual papers and presentations which explore the following conference themes:
- An Overview of the Field of Arts and Health: Healing Environments, Patient Care, Caring For Caregivers, Community Wellbeing, Education
- Arts and Wellness Across the Span of a Lifetime: Pediatrics to Older Adults
- Using the Arts to Address Stress and Trauma in Community
- Challenges and Opportunities in Practice, Research, Training, and Job Development in the Arts and Healthcare: Clinical Training, Creative Arts Therapies, Medical Education
The deadline for submission of papers is 15 December 2012.
