Music Matters, a seminar and workshop organised by Music and Health Ireland, will take place in Cork on 23 February 2013. All musicians and those working with music in healthcare settings are welcome and the event is free of charge.

Drummer Simeon Smith of the MaSamba Samba School will lead a drumming workshop with a special focus on drumming techniques for community-settings. Musician Eamon Sweeney will lead a discussion about his Arts Council-funded project in which he has been researching the use of Improvised Music and Composed Music in Healthcare Settings. There will also be time for an open forum for the general sharing of ideas and techniques.
