The Waterford Healing Arts Trust (WHAT) invites artists to apply for its 2013 Artist-in-Residence programme. The successful artist will produce a body of work for exhibition in Waterford Regional Hospital and engage part of the patient population of the hospital in a collaborative arts project. The closing date for applications is Wednesday, 13 March 2013 at 2pm.

WHAT has been running an Artist in Residence programme since 1994 as a means of:

  • engaging hospital users in contemporary art practice
  • enhancing the environment of Waterford Regional Hospital
  • offering opportunities to emerging artists for professional development within a healthcare context.

See https://www.artsandhealth.ie/case-studies/waterford-healing-arts-trust-artist-in-residence-programme/ for more information on this programme.

The successful artist will receive a studio space for a six-month period in the WHAT Centre for Arts and Health, a small bursary and materials budget, and the opportunity to hold a solo exhibition.
