Affecting Perception: Art & Neuroscience – new exhibition and seminar series, Oxford, UK

Affecting Perception: Art & Neuroscience, a new art-science exhibition organised by the AXNS Collective, will take place from the 2-31 March 2013 at the O3 Gallery, Oxford, UK. The project will have three strands: an exhibition, a seminar series and workshops in local schools. Affecting Perception is funded by The Wellcome Trust and The Wates Foundation, and supported by the Department of Experimental Psychology at the University of Oxford. Read More

Call for conference papers ‘Attentive Writers’: Healthcare, Authorship, and Authority

The Medical Humanities Research Centre at the University of Glasgow is organising a conference on the theme of ‘Attentive Writers’: Healthcare, Authorship, and Authority from the 23-25 August 2013. Abstracts on this theme are sought from academics, clinicians, creative writers, non-clinical healthcare workers, caregivers, and interested laypersons. The deadline for submissions is 4 March 2013. Arts and Health Partnership Programme announces support for four new projects

The Arts and Health Partnership of the HSE Health Promotion Service, Dublin South East/Wicklow and Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council Arts Office has announced its support for four new projects in healthcare settings across the County. Additional support for these projects will come from the Arts Council. Eamon Sweeney, Joanna Parkes, Julie Merriman and Lucinda Jacob are the creative practitioners who have been selected through an open call to facilitate projects in music, drama and visual art.  Read More

Have you been involved in any interesting arts and health projects recently that you wish to showcase to your peers? artsandhealth.ie invites submissions of case studies of arts and health projects. The case studies section of artsandhealth.ie provides an excellent opportunity for arts and health practitioners to promote and share their work amongst peers, partners and funders in the field of arts and health. The word count is less than 1000 words and artsandhealth.ie will provide editing support. The next deadline date for submissions of case studies is Monday, 4 February 2013.
