Derry-Londonderry City of Culture 2013

Derry-Londonderry was awarded the inaugural UK City of Culture designation for 2013. As part of the City of Culture programme, there are a number of on-going and once-off events in the area of arts and health and arts and disability, including Six Strings and Stigma, an arts and mental health project, Arts Care’s Here and Beyond, a large scale dance and disability performance, and the Extraordinary People Project which aims to involve hard to reach groups and communities in cultural activities. Lonradh programme at Crawford Art Gallery for individuals with dementia continues throughout 2013

Lonradh, a tailored art programme for individuals with dementia and their carers, will continue at Crawford Art Gallery in Cork until the end of 2013. The Lonradh programme involves groups of 6 – 8 people visiting the gallery to look at and discuss paintings, socialise over a cup of tea, with the option of also taking part in art-making activities.
