The next Music Matters Forum will take place on Saturday, 28 September 2013 from 10:30 am to 5:30 pm at Camphill Jerpoint, Thomastown, Co Kilkenny. The Camphill Community Jerpoint is kindly providing a space. The theme of the forum is Music-making for People with an Intellectual Disability. The forum consists of presentations, as well as practical workshops. There will be plenty of time for discussions and to share experiences.
Music Matters is a health and music forum in Ireland. It promotes contact, discussion, support and meeting between people working with music in the context of healthcare. Music Matters was formed following a workshop at the Waterford Healing Arts Trust in September 2011. A forum is held twice a year focusing on various topics related to Music and Health.
Booking is essential as we have limited space only. Please email musicjens@hotmail.com or phone Jens Ludwig on 086 3417092 to confirm your attendance before the 15 of September.
Refreshments will be provided for the tea breaks, as well as a warm lunch. In order to cover the expenses, participants are asked for a €10 contribution. Please advise if you any special dietary requirements while booking.

From Dublin using motorway:
From the M50 (Red Cow) Roundabout take the N7 towards Naas on to the Naas Dual Carriageway heading southbound. About ½ an hour later at Junction 11 take the slip road off the motorway for Carlow/Waterford (M9). Continue on M9 for 44 miles. Take the exit for Stoneyford (Junction 9) (NOT Jn 7 Thomastown). Take first exit at roundabout for Stoneyford (N10). Drive approximately 4 miles to Stoneford village. Continue through Stoneyford village. As you exit the village (still on the N10) there is a left fork at the primary school (sign posted to Jerpoint Abbey, Mount Juliet, Jerpoint Glass, Thomastown 5 miles, Goatsbridge Trout Farm 3km). Take this left fork and set your mileometer to zero. Drive along this road for 2.5 miles (you pass Jerpoint Glass and the gates to Mount Juliet). After 2.5 miles there is a half demolished derelict stone cottage on the left hand side. Turn left into the tarmacked lane immediately after this derelict cottage (There is a small wooden sign saying Camphill Jerpoint).
Directions from Kilkenny:
From Kilkenny drive on the N10 (direction Waterford) for about 8 miles to the village of Stoneyford. Continue through the village. As you exit the village (still on the N10) there is a left fork at the primary school (sign posted to Jerpoint Abbey, Mount Juliet, Jerpoint Glass, Thomastown 5 miles, Goatsbridge Trout Farm 3km). Take this left fork and set your mileometer to zero. Drive along this road for 2.5 miles (you pass Jerpoint Glass and the gates to Mount Juliet). After 2.55 miles there is a half demolished derelict stone cottage on the left hand side. Directions from Waterford:
Leave the motorway at the signpost for Knocktopher. Drive into Knocktoper. Follow signs for Thomastown. About 2 miles before Thomastown there is a left turn (sign posted Jerpoint Glass, Mount Juliet 2.5km, Trout Farm). Turn left here. Set your milemeter to zero and travel along this road for 0.7 miles (up the hill, down a hill and again a couple of hundred metres up a hill) until you see a half demolished stone cottage on the right hand side. Turn right into the tarmacked lane immediately before this derelict cottage (There is a small wooden sign saying Camphill Jerpoint).
Directions from Thomastown:
Leave Thomastown on the N9, direction Waterford. Approximately 1 mile outside Thomastown you will pass Jerpoint Abbey. Continue past the abbey for half a mile, and take the first right turn (sign posted Jerpoint Glass, Mount Juliet 2.5km, Trout Farm). Set your milemeter to zero and travel along this road for 0.7 miles (up the hill, down a hill and again a couple of hundred metres up a hill) until you see a half demolished stone cottage on the right hand side.
