Waterford Healing Arts Trust  is delighted to present the third and final exhibition in the Body Conscious series featuring the artworks of Vera Klute. The exhibition will be on display on the Outpatient’s Corridor at Waterford Regional Hospital from 24 October to 28 November 2013.

As one of Ireland’s leading arts and health programmes based in Waterford Regional Hospital, the Waterford Healing Arts Trust is concerned with the common ground between the world of health and the world of art, and in this regard, there can be few greater shared concerns than the body.

German-born Klute lives and woks in Ireland and graduated from Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology in 2006. Her work has been included in many exhibitions worldwide and is part of both private and public collections and has recently been added to the National Self-portrait Collection of Ireland.

In keeping with the previous exhibitions in the Body Conscious series Vera’s work is centred on the body, specifically the internal functions and processes. Her interest does not lie in anatomical accuracy but in creating a sense of inventiveness and adventure as to what might be occurring within us.

A catalogue documenting the three exhibitions in the Body Conscious series will be launched to coincide with this exhibition.

WHAT acknowledges the financial support of the Arts Council and the combined Credit Unions of Waterford city in making this project possible.
