Host is an exhibition of paintings and drawings being shown in the arts corridor of University Hospital Galway from 26 August to 30 September 2014. The exhibition explores themes about leaving to go elsewhere. These mystic horsemen express feelings not unusual in a hospital setting, attack, defence, running-away, going to another place and being struck by new realities that are unreal.

The exhibition contains over 20 works comprising of recent drawings and paintings most of which are available for purchase and never before exhibited publicly.

The exhibition is dedicated to the artist’s friend, Michelle Crehan RIP.

John Conway is a graduate from Visual Arts Practice at IADT. His practice includes painting and drawing. Recent exhibitions include Sábháil Sinn/Bright Anxiety (2014), The Helix (2013), Eigse Open submission (2013), Overlap RuaRed (2013), Cavalry Garter Lane Arts Centre (2013), Leitrim Sculpture Centre Christmas Open Art Exhibition (2012), He tells of the Perfect Beauty Hawk’s Well Theatre’s 30th Birthday (2012).
