Niche Community Health Project, based in Knocknaheeny / Hollyhill Community Garden is seeking a Community Garden Artist in Residence under theJobridge Internship scheme. The intern will work with the Community Arts for Health Worker, and the Niche Team, to develop a number of art projects, installations and creative events in the community garden, working with individuals and groups from the local area. The intern will receive formal and informal training in arts facilitation, arts for health practice, project and time management and community support and development. They will also have the opportunity to develop their own creativity, learn new artistic and technical skills and work with a variety of materials on both small and large scale. Deadline Monday, 4 September.
Skills Requirement
The applicant should have a background in fine art or design and ideally have a general interest in gardening, environmental issues and food. An interest in community engagement and collaboration is essential, and the applicant must enjoy meeting, talking and working with people both in groups and one-to-one. The applicant should be motivated and reliable, have good listening and communication skills, believe in working to high standards and giving attention to detail.
Mentor
The applicant will be mentored directly by the Community Arts for Health Worker but will also receive support and training from other team members.
