The Amulet, National Touring Exhibition by artist Marie Brett which explores the hidden world of infant loss is coming to Cork, to three individual venues, and being opened at Cork City Hall by guest speaker Dr. Ed Kr?ma, University College Cork, History of Art on Wednesday 15 October at 6pm.
Discussion event
Following the opening, there will be a panel discussion event, where the artist Marie Brett will be joined by Maeve Dineen, Cork City Council Arts Office; Margaret Murphy, University College Cork, Nursing & Midwifery; participating bereaved parents and Cork University Maternity Hospital Bereavment and Loss Midwife, Anna Maria Verling; in a discussion about the artwork, chaired by Cork University Hospital Arts Coordinator, Edelle Nolan.
This event will be of interest to artists, particularly those working collaboratively and in social/community contexts, to healthcare and bereavement professionals, arts professionals, bereaved parents and students of arts, humanities, social sciences and midwifery.
This event is free and all are welcome. Refreshments will be served. See invitation.
