Do you want to develop a specialist role using the arts or providing activities for people with dementia? The School of Dementia Studies at the University of Bradford are now offering a part-time, one-year distance learning programme leading to the award of Postgraduate Certificates in Dementia Studies (Arts and Activities). Now recruiting for September 2015. Deadline for applications 31 July 2015.

The programme is aimed at those whose work involves providing arts-based activities for people with dementia, or community arts practitioners working with people who have dementia.

The programme consists of two modules:

  • Understanding the experiences of people with dementia
  • Arts and activities in dementia care

Assignments are all practice based and involve carrying out an in-depth exploration of the experiences of one person with dementia and building a portfolio of arts and/or activities practice.

A first degree (BA or BSc)or existing postgraduate or equivalent qualification is usually required, but the subject area is less important than evidence of ability to study at this level.

Deadline for application is 31 July 2015.
