Culture Night is nearly upon us and around the country there are lots of arts and health events taking place in hospitals, healthcare settings and community spaces. Many of these events are open to the public, so if you’re out and about on the cultural trail this Friday 18 September why not drop in and see what’s on offer?
‘Music and Health: Promoting excellence in practice’ is a public arts and health seminar presenting the best of Irish Music Therapy and Music and Health Practice. The National Centre for Arts and Health in association with South Dublin County Council, the Music Department of Trinity College Dublin, RUA RED Arts Centre and The Meath Foundation will present this free, public seminar on Friday 23 October 2015.
Under the Per Cent for Art Scheme, the Mental Health Services Sligo/Leitrim wishes to commission art works in tandem with the construction of a new Acute Mental Health Unit (AMHU) for adults at Sligo Regional Hospital. Expressions of interest are invited from collaborative artists working in all art forms to create works of a temporal or permanent nature that are informed by and appropriate to this health context.
Little Miracles art exhibition is a collaboration between two Dublin Mental Health service providers – EVE Goirtin and H.O.P.S. Rehabcare. EVE Goirtin is a HSE Hub programme which aims to support individuals in the community, based in Grangegorman, Dublin 7. H.O.P.S (Harrison’s Opportunities & Placement Service) is a Rehabcare community day service based in Dublin 2. The exhibition will run in Cabra Library from 3 September to 18 September. Read More
