Arts Care will launch the ‘RIPE’ art exhibition at Crescent Arts Centre, Belfast on 19 January 2016. This exhibition is the first major Northern Ireland event of the far-reaching ‘Here & Now’ Older People’s Arts in Health/Well-Being Festival 2016, funded by The Public Health Agency.

The ‘RIPE’ exhibition is specifically aimed at celebrating emerging artists over 60 who have never had a solo exhibition. ‘RIPE’ will feature paintings, sculptures and textile arts of older people from across Northern Ireland.

The Here & Now Festival led by Arts Care has been running in Northern Ireland since 2013 and offers a series of 250 co-ordinated, skill-building arts workshops for older people from January to March each year. Arts Care artists travel across the five Health and Social Care Trusts to different health and community settings to facilitate art workshop sessions across a variety of creative disciplines and produce end of the project performances/exhibitions.
