‘Visions’ is a solo exhibition by Stefanie Fleischer on view in University Hospital Waterford as part of the Staff Art Wall. The exhibition opens on 11 January 2016 and will be exhibited in the post room corridor.
Stefanie Fleischer was born in England and has lived in several countries in Europe, Asia and Africa. Waterford has been her home for over 20 years. Stefanie has previously exhibited in Garter Lane in a joint exhibition by Waterford Art Group.
Stefanie is a Meteorologist and, following qualifications in Kenya and the UK, she moved to South Africa, where she worked as a Radar Meteorologist on a weather modification project in Bethlehem and as an Agro-meteorologist in an agricultural college in Pietermaritzburg. Stefanie moved to Ireland in 1992 and has since also obtained a Diploma in Pollution Control from the Open University.
Stefanie works in the Waterford Healing Arts Trust (WHAT) in University Hospital Waterford. She volunteers for the Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind and the WSPCA. Stefanie loves animals and has two rescue dogs at home, who take her for their two mile walk every morning before work. Gardening, nature and crafts are her other hobbies.
She says about her art: ‘I try to paint various subjects and like the way mixing different colours can create different moods and impressions. When I paint, I’m in a world of my own.‘
