Event
Luisne, a one-day light installation by Marie Lee, a recent honours graduate of the Waterford Institute of Technology’s (WIT) Visual Art course, will be on show in the foyer of University Hospital Waterford (UHW) on Friday 25 November. This showcase is the result of Marie being awarded the Waterford Healing Arts Trust’s Arts and Health Award in 2016.
Artist Marie Lee was born in Kilkenny and currently lives in Kilkenny city. She works with refractive light creating light sculptures and video work. She aims to bring people into intimate contact with natural light to experience something directly.
There are things in life which may be passing us by which we might not get the chance to see again. Similarly the forms present in her installations are unique to each moment and will change with the transit of the sun. Some will only be present when there is strong sunlight.
This showcase comprises a light installation that depends on direct sunlight and a video piece which will be shown in the Admissions Department.
