The Fig & Olive Cafe will host an evening of free entertainment on 4 May 2017 as part of Clonakilty Wellness Week in West Cork. The theme for this year’s Wellness Week is Resilience and acts on the night include The Lost Gecko featuring Stanley Notte, The Claddagh Rogues and Mide Houlihan.

The Lost Gecko featuring Stanley Notte combines original music, poetry and a smattering of cover versions to create an atmospheric evening underpinned by a passionate commentary on social issues that asks listeners to think and view our world in a more compassionate way.

James O’ Flynn has overcome his fair share of demons, including homelessness, addiction and mental health difficulties. His band The Claddagh Rogues have consistently produced passionate music rooted in the troubles and joys of life. The Rogues are celebrating the launch of their vinyl album For the Record (thecladdaghrogues.bandcamp.com) with a series of nationwide performances during 2017.

Mide Houlihan is a Clonakilty bred singer-songwriter whose storytelling is lyrically spellbinding and easy to relate to. Her song ‘Nuts and Bolts’ won the IMRO Christie Hennessy Songwriting award in 2015 and is featured on her critically lauded album Coloured In, recorded with the acclaimed producer and guitarist Bill Shanley.

The night kicks off at 7.30pm and admission is free.
