The Creative Well arts and wellbeing project is in residency with ‘This Must Be the Place’ at the Riverbank Arts Centre, Kildare throughout 2017. Upcoming events include the exhibition ‘Inspirational Colours’ by KCAT studio artists, an artist talk with Emer O’Boyle and a printmaking workshop with Creative Well support artist Emma Finucane. Kildare-based artists are also invited to apply for an incubation space. The Creative Well is a Kildare County Council Arts Service project.
Inspirational Colours
28 April – 1 June 2017
An exhibition of artworks by studio artists from the KCAT studio Callan, Kilkenny, selected and curated by artists from The Art Group, KARE, Eyre Street, Newbridge. This exhibition represents the first collaboration between these two art groups and is the first KCAT exhibition in Newbridge.
Emer O’Boyle Artist Talk
Thursday 4 May, 8–9pm
Emer O’Boyle is co-founder and Director of UCD Parity Studios, Artists in Residence programme (www.ucdartinscience.com). She is an artist/educator whose work explores individual stories within collective contexts and creates conditions for exchange between different interest groups. Since 2010 she has been collaborating with Professor of Astronomy Lorraine Hanlon and her team at UCD.
Part of ‘This Must Be the Place – For Talking’ artist lecture series. Throughout 2017 The Creative Well will present artist talks free of charge and open to the public in The McKenna Gallery at Riverbank Arts Centre. Printmaking workshop with artist Emma Finucane
Saturday: May 13th / 20th / 27th / June 3rd
11am – 1pm
Price for four workshops €30
This workshop will take place over four sessions and is tailored to accommodate participants will all levels of ability from complete beginners to those who have experience. Participants will be brought through monoprint and drypoint printmaking processes. All materials will be provided. Space is limited and booking in advance is essential.

Incubation Space Open Call
This Must Be the Place – (For Thinking)

Do you need more space to develop your artwork? The Creative Well is offering Kildare-based artists or artists originally from Kildare with all levels of experience an opportunity to use the McKenna Art Gallery at Riverbank Arts Centre as their own studio for short or long periods of time throughout 2017. Artists can apply to use the space for one day to three consecutive days and up to four days a week for six weeks.
The deadline for all applications for the Artist Incubation Space: Wednesday 24 May at 12 noon.

- A brief description of how you would like to use the space and time, including why this is important for you personally and/or for your practice. (Maximum amount of words 250)
- An artist’s CV if you have one or a brief note describing how long you have been making art and anywhere you have shown your work or have done arts based activities, for example: workshops/projects etc.
