Event

Daughters of the Revolution is a theatre piece exploring women’s experience of maternity in Ireland by writer and director Kate Harris of 4elements Theatre Company. The play was created in collaboration with women who have engaged with the Irish maternity services. Following a sold-out run in Dublin’s Harbour Playhouse in 2016, Daughters of the Revolution will tour to Dublin and Waterford in 2017 and to Cork, Galway and Limerick in 2018.
This satirical and irreverent play looks at exactly what women go through from pregnancy to birth, and is followed by a post-show discussion between the audience and a panel of experts on maternity in Ireland, including healthcare professionals, policy experts, and service users. Daughters of the Revolution creates a space for women, families, and healthcare professionals to share experiences and ideas. This performance aims to start the conversation on how the maternity services could be better for everyone.
Original music by award-winning composer Doc O’Connor.
