Connolly Collective is an art group comprised of artists and staff who are attached to Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown. Their new exhibition will launch in the Administration Building of the hospital on Thursday 19 October at 6.30pm. All welcome.

Connolly hospital was a TB sanatorium, built in 1955. The Connolly Collective held their first exhibition to celebrate the hospital’s 50th birthday and the commemoration of 1916. The work from this exhibition was given as a permanent donation to the hospital and the aim of the Collective is to raise awareness of the value of art in the hospital environment for patients, staff and visitors.

‘The 2017 exhibition is a response to colour and healing. What we see can have an effect on our mood and body. Colour is light vibrating at various wavelengths and it can alter our perception of our physical environment from a grassy field to a hospital ward. We aim to bring attention to its positive effects and amplify its benefits.’ – Connolly Collective

Artists: Valerie Ball, Louise Boggan, Mary Clarke, Simone Clavin, Frances Ennos, Theresa King, Dympna Mahony, Helene Malone, Annabel Potterton, Mette Roche, Noreen Farrell, Peter McKenna, Deirdre O’Sullivan

The exhibition will continue until January 2018 and will benefit Blanchardstown Hospital Society, with 20% of all sales going to the hospital charity.
