Solos and Notions is a diverse exploration of creativity by older people in County Offaly. Facilitated and curated by Anam Beo, Offaly’s Arts, Health and Wellbeing organisation, this exhibition includes work by three artists from within healthcare settings: David Boland, Maureen Dunne and John Beesley. Solos and Notions officially opens at Áras an Chontae in Tullamore on 15 May and runs until 8 June 2018 as part of Bealtaine Festival.

The show incorporates a story of quilts from Birr Community and Nursing Unit, and the opportunity to see a large collage artwork created by members of the Irish Wheelchair Association, facilitated by artist Caroline Conway. There will also be a sound and visual display of notions and opinions, hidden or not, from the older community.

An Anam Beo production, in collaboration with Offaly’s Public Participation Network and Active Retirement Associations.

Official opening
Date: Tuesday 15 May at 5.15pm
Venue: The Atrium at Áras an Chontae, Charleville Road, Tullamore
