Arts and Health Check Up Check In 2018 took place at Crawford Art Gallery in Cork on 26 April on the theme of ‘building momentum’. The day included candid presentations on challenges faced within arts and health work (and how these have been overcome), case studies of projects where participants are healthcare professionals, and practical workshops exploring methodologies in socially engaged practice.
Award-winning theatre director and writer, Professor Anna Furse, FRSA, gave an illuminating keynote on the intersection of arts and medicine over the centuries, which has informed a series of projects on the ‘body spectacular’ from Renaissance Anatomical Art to Imaging Technologies.
