Event

As part of Kathryn Crowley’s MA in Social Arts Practice at Limerick School of Art & Design, she is exploring the health of women and girls in Limerick through talking circles, creativity and yoga. The Crimson Waves workshops are free and will run from November 2018 to March 2019.
Participants are invited to explore questions such as:
- Why did the ancients rest at the ‘crimson wave’ time?
- How can we apply self-care in this busy world?
- What creative processes can help us as women to be gentle with ourselves when we have our period, or indeed at any time of the month?
- What cycles of life must each woman go through, and how are we honouring our elders?
Kathryn Crowley will be available to groups in Limerick city and county on Mondays and Tuesdays from 1pm-8pm. Sessions last two hours and Kathryn can meet in your homes, community centres, workplaces, cafes or anywhere that a group of women can gather. Sessions last two hours. Donations are appreciated towards running costs.
Some groups will make pictures, others will talk, share stories, read, sing or dance. Kathryn has got ideas, materials and suggestions to share. Each meeting will end with gentle yoga. Kathryn is a qualified, experienced yoga teacher with her own insurance.
Finished works of art are not the primary focus; Kathryn is more interested in organic process, peer learning and responding to topics that come up in conversation through various forms of creativity.
