As part of the community outreach programme of the 65th Cork International Choral Festival, the Arts Committee of Cork University Hospital has organised a free concert by the Hamburg Academy of Music And Theatre Choir on 2 May 2019 at 3pm in the CRC Atrium.

This is a free public event suitable for staff, patients, family visitors and the general public.

The Hamburg Academy of Music and Theatre Choir formed in September 2013. The choir performs acappella repertoire from all historical periods and regularly collaborates with the Academy Orchestra on larger works, including oratorios. Their conductor, Professor Cornelius Trantow, has been Professor of Choral Conducting at the Academy since 1999. In October 2017, the choir won the Regional Choir Competition in Hamburg in the mixed choirs’ category. In May 2018 at the National Choir Competition in Freiburg, the choir attained the highest score awarded in the entire competition.

CUH’s very own workplace choir, SCRUBS, is also taking part in the festival. For further information visit www.corkchoral.ie
