In Bloom, a solo exhibition by artist Dorothee Kölle, opens at Nazareth House Nursing Home in Sligo on 12 June 2019. The exhibition is supported and funded by Sligo County Council Arts Service as part of their Arts in Health Programme and is taking place during the Lily Lolly Craft Festival.

I see my approach in my art practice very much like life itself unfolds for me. Crossing borders not only means taking elements from one art practice into the other, but also taking influences from different sources of life: personal experiences, social and international politics, connections to history, encounters with people. All these aspects intermingle and appear somehow in the artwork as resonance.’ – Dorothee Kölle

Lily Lolly Craftfest
The Lily Lolly Craftfest celebrates the legacy of Susan and Elizabeth Yeats affectionately known as Lily and Lolly. The sisters published many of the great Irish writers of their time including their brother W.B. through their printing company Cuala Press. Elizabeth authored a number of books on how to paint flowers using watercolours. They created tapestries and carpets which were highly regarded internationally. The Lily Lolly Craftfest is held for 10 days from June 13th to coincide with their brother W.B. Yeats’ birthday celebration in Sligo. It is a celebration of art and craft in Sligo town and county. https://www.facebook.com/LilyLollyCraft/

The exhibition continues until 29 July 2019.
