Event
NCAD Studio+ students are hosting an exhibition of work in response to the Art with Health and Well-Being module based in MISA Creative Life, St. James’s Hospital. The exhibition will take place on 21 January 2020 at the Creative Life Centre, MISA and will include a live performance.
The creation of multiple studios for student artists by Mercer’s Institute for Successful Ageing (MISA) and the National College of Art and Design (NCAD) to foster creative encounters with people and place is a pioneering step in Europe. This module offers students the opportunity to learn and work in a healthcare context that is emerging as a compelling challenge and site of research and practice in our contemporary culture.
MISA is a new institute within St. James’s Hospital Complex in Dublin. Creativity is one of its defining pillars and it has a purpose built ‘Creative Life Studio’ at its heart. Working within MISA, students develop art work in relation to the hospital, its environments or services, or with patients and staff, and have privileged access to a significant environment.
