The Poetry Line  is a new initiative from Poetry Ireland and Aosdána, in collaboration with ALONE, a charity supporting older people living on their own. Individuals who are currently cocooning are invited to sign up to receive a phone call from a writer/poet who will read them two reassuring poems in celebration of Poetry Day Ireland on Thursday 30 April 2020.

In order to sign up, call Poetry Ireland’s dedicated Poetry Line at  01 254 8856. One of their team will take your name, phone number, preferred time slot, and any particular poem requests (if you have one).

This line is currently open for sign-ups from 10am – 5pm. Sign-ups will close on Wednesday 29 April at noon. The Poetry Line phone calls will then take place on Poetry Day Ireland (Thursday 30 April).

Know someone who might be interested? Poetry Ireland would appreciate your help in getting the word out about this initiative to individuals who are cocooning and may not be on social media.
