The National Centre for Arts and Health at Tallaght University Hospital (TUH) presents Life of Objects by Irish artist Lucy Turner. This exhibition for the hospital community will be on display on Hospital Street until October 2020.
Life of Objects explores the making of images, the processes involved and the reuse of materials. Giving new life to abandoned materials is not as much about recycling as it is about re-loving. The drawings, both decorative and detailed, are carefully cut into lino to form a relief image ready to be printed on recycled linen.
Blurring the lines between fine art, craft and illustration, Turner creates a body of work with a strong narrative inspired by her own locality, world travel, poetry, flora and fauna.
Lucy Turner previously created the Butterfly Haven art installation commemorating deceased colleagues at TUH. Adorning the walls of the Innovation Hub, the Butterfly Haven was launched in January 2020.
