The Bealtaine Festival, organised by Age & Opportunity, celebrates the arts and creativity as we age. The Bealtaine Gathering is an annual networking event for the Bealtaine community of event organisers, artists, partners and supporters. This year’s Gathering runs on 20 and 21 October 2020, with a re-envisioned programme for the year that’s in it.

For the Bealtaine Gathering 2020, an inspiring line up of national and international speakers will seek to put a context around the strange times we’re living through and show us as a creative community how we can survive and thrive through these ongoing challenges.

Susan Perlstein, founder of the National Center for Creative Aging in the US, will be the keynote speaker for this online iteration of The Gathering. Susan will talk about her work in ‘creative ageing’, which has educated thousands of artists, educators and health care and social service professionals.

The speaker line up includes Dr. Virginia Tandy, OBE (Creative Ageing Development Agency, UK), Anne Gallacher (Luminate, UK), Farrell Renowden (Age of Creativity, UK), Kelly Barr (Age Cymru, UK), Catherine Young (The Welcoming Project, Ireland), and Lucy Medlycott (ISACS – Irish Street Arts, Circus & Spectacle Network).

Event information
The Gathering will take place across two morning sessions from 10am – 12:30pm on Tuesday 20 & Wednesday 21 October.
