A live discussion panel about the role of the arts in the NHS in Wales will take place on 26 October. Hosted by Jenny Burns, Head of Wales at the Mental Health Foundation, the discussion will explore the advances that have been made in arts and health in Wales in recent years.

Three years ago the Arts Council of Wales and the Welsh NHS Confederation signed a Memorandum of Understanding, which provides more opportunities to promote the benefits of the arts to mental health and wellbeing to the public and policy makers.

Across all seven Health Boards in Wales there are people working as Arts in Health leads, developing programmes involving staff, patients, artists, and communities.

The discussion panel includes Sally Lewis, Portfolio Manager at the Arts Council of Wales; Nesta Lloyd-Jones, Assistant Director of the Welsh NHS Confederation and Prue Thimbleby, Arts in Health Lead at Swansea Bay UHB.
