The inaugural National Arts in Nursing Homes Day is taking place on Friday 21 May as part of Age & Opportunity’s Bealtaine Festival 2021. In partnership with Nursing Homes Ireland, nursing homes across the country are hosting special events to promote the role of art in supporting nursing home residents.
National Arts in Nursing Homes Day provides an opportunity to raise public awareness about the creative works that are accomplished by residents in nursing homes. It celebrates the sometimes hidden, but hugely valuable work of creating a space where all residents can express themselves meaningfully through arts experiences.
