The Creativity & Change programme, based at CIT Crawford College of Art & Design, is about creativity and its power to ignite empathy, passion and learning about our world. It is about imagining more just and viable ways to live and to connect with how we think, live, and act and explore how we can live as connected global citizens, part of the changes we want to see.
In 2020/21, CCAD developed a new pop-up mobile classroom with a cargo e-bike for materials. Participants are asked to bring bicycles where possible and travel together to different locations around Cork City, applying learning and creatively responding to the outdoor environment. Allowances are made for mobility difficulties.
The fee for 2021/2022 is €680. This is subsidised by Irish Aid’s Development Education unit. Places are offered on a rolling basis and will close once maximum numbers are reached. There is a high number of applicants and it is not always possible to offer places to all. It is advised to apply as early as possible to avoid disappointment. Some funded scholarship places are available for those who experience barriers to post-graduate education (see below).
Amplifying Voices Scholarships
The core of Creativity & Change’s work is to explore and address global justice and they value the perspectives and experiences of a diverse participant group when doing so. They are consistently seeking to improve the accessibility of their programme and would love to provide opportunities to those who may have previously experienced barriers to accessing post-graduate education, such as those in the Direct Provision system, or Travellers.
They are pleased to announce that they are now in a position to offer a number of free places on their course to those who may not have otherwise been in a position to apply. Please cite Amplifying Voices in the title of your application statement when applying via the website.
